Our Mission & Values

Celebration Baptist Church’s mission is real life-change.

Our Mission Statement Explained

At Celebration, our ultimate purpose is to see real life-change among our friends and neighbors both in our own community and around the world.  We believe that real life-change can not take place apart from Jesus Christ.

In order to see life-change among family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others, we strive to do two things well – Love God . . . Love People.

During His ministry on earth, Jesus gave two very significant statements. They are often called the Great Commandment (Mark 12:28-34) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

The Great Commandment resulted from a challenge issued by the religious leaders back in the day. That group of men asked Jesus to identify the most important duty of man. They desired Him to quote one of the Ten Commandments. However, Jesus summarized the duty of man in a two-part statement – Love God . . . Love People.

The Great Commission was given to the Church by Jesus a little later and explained the purpose for practicing the Great Commandment – life-change. That life-change is much more than simply “turning over a new leaf,” it is a fresh start at life.

Our Values

We value BIBLICAL TRUTH. The Bible is the foundation of our faith, the standard for doing life, and the guide for making all of life’s decisions.

We value LIFE-CHANGE. The key to real life-change is a faith-based relationship with Jesus Christ. Helping others experience that relationship is the foundational motive for all that we do.

We value PERSONAL DISCIPLESHIP. Living out one’s personal relationship with Christ on a practical and daily basis is essential. To help people accomplish this, intentional, personal discipleship is top priority.

We value PRACTICAL MINISTRY. Our church loves to serve! We believe the Lord has blessed us in so many ways that serving someone should be a natural outflow.

We value AUTHENTICITY. In an atmosphere of openness and transparency, people are encouraged to be candid about thier problems, hurts, and shortcomings. Sin has scarred everyone. It’s simply more evident in the lives of some, than in the lives of others.

We value ALL PEOPLE. Because people are important to God; people are important to us. No matter one’s culture, ethnicity, socio-economic status, or past spiritual experience, ALL people are valued at our church.
