CBCInTheKnow – November 2023

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18Rejoice always! 17) Pray constantly. 18) Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Planning for Next Year

Both a ministry plan and an annual budget will be presented for review during the January 2024 Celebration Business Meeting.

The purpose of the ministry plan is to make sure we reach our community and beyond in a balanced manner. We focus on 4 touch points locally – Harmony Grove Schools, Arkansas Health Center, Haskell City Hall and the Haskell Community at large.  The ministry plan will also include a listing of personnel to serve through our various teams (committees). Very soon, the CBC Nominating Team will be reaching out to the membership with opportunities for service.

The 2024 proposed annual budget will also be presented.  This detailed budget will serve as a spending plan as ministry decisions are made. The addition of the our new building will necessitate a noticeable increase in our budget. However, if current giving patterns continue or increase, Celebration should be able to adequately meet budget.

Month In Review

October was a memorable month at Celebration Baptist Church for a variety of reasons.

The month kicked-off with four men attending a 4 King & Kingdom  men’s retreat. This retreat was life changing for these men and will soon be a fundamental part of Celebration:Men.

The grand opening of our new building occurred on October 8. It was a great day as we celebrated God’s blessing on our church. The construction will continue as finishing touches are added to the structure, but WE ARE IN! The fellows are taking November and December to rest and will resume work in 2024.

Jamie Morgan, a missionary with Children’s Relief International (CRI), gave a ministry report to the congregation on October 15th. Jamie was a member of Celebration Baptist Church and took a full-time role with CRI in August 2021. Celebration supports her with a small monthly stipend, as do several individual members.

The annual CBC Family Fall Fest  took a different direction this year. The games were more self-run and allowed for more conversations and relationship building. From all indications, it was a success.
